The Nardò Post Office is a local community center designed to serve people experiencing severe social marginalization, offering low-threshold services, reception, orientation, and support for inclusion.
The project is part of the PNRR Mission 5, Component 2, Sub-Investment 1.3.2 – Post Offices, with the aim of strengthening the local system for combating poverty and developing an integrated model between the territorial area, ETS, social services, and the community.
The model goes beyond the welfare logic: it integrates social, health, and local services, administrative support, multidimensional care, and gradual paths to independence. The Post Office becomes a network hub, not just a physical place.
The project enhances the AMICO platform – Assistant for Intercultural Mediation: a digital tool based on artificial intelligence to recognize spoken language, translate conversations, transcribe social interviews and facilitate access to services.
Initial consultation, orientation, and needs assessment.
Definition of the individualized project and coordination with the services.
Support for home, work, health, relationships, and citizenship.
